Charlie Harris Releases Debut Album 'Digital Dust (Side A)' Featuring First Single 'Charlie No Face'

Johannesburg, South Africa – Charlie Harris, the lead singer-songwriter of Keep Guessing, has released his much-anticipated debut album, Digital Dust (Side A). Hailing from Johannesburg, Charlie’s music blends folk-rock with deep introspection, offering a fresh take on heartfelt, authentic songwriting.

Charlie’s musical journey started young, inspired by watching his uncles play guitar and drums. His love for the guitar blossomed at 13, thanks to his uncle's guidance and his parents’ gift of a guitar that became a treasured possession. Writing his first song, “My SANNA 77,” named after the case holding his guitar notes, Charlie embarked on a musical journey that saw him writing over 100 songs.

Despite initial shyness, Charlie began performing at open mic nights, where positive feedback fueled his desire to keep playing. His musical evolution saw him form his first band, Hemisphere, later transitioning to Radio Unfriendly, before settling into Keep Guessing alongside drummer Shaun. During the quiet of the COVID-19 pandemic, the duo honed their acoustic, raw sound, leading to their current lively, energetic vibe.

A turning point came in 2023 when Charlie met producer Robin Walsh, who helped bring his debut album, Digital Dust, to life. This album, a nod to the songs that could have been lost in the digital world, marks the culmination of Charlie’s dedication.

The album’s first single, "Charlie No Face", is inspired by the tragic story of Raymond Robinson, whose disfigurement turned him into an urban legend. Charlie’s introspective songwriting captures the haunting theme of how society often turns personal pain into spectacle, a reflection of his thoughtful approach to music.

With Digital Dust (Side A), Charlie Harris has begun sharing the songs that have defined his musical journey, proving that the right time to chase your dreams is now.

Digital Dust (Side A) is out on 14 September on all platforms.
