Valentine’s Day on 14 February is the time to express love and appreciation for partners, friends, and family. While largely focused on romantic relationships, it’s not limited to these, making it the perfect opportunity to show besties and parents how much they mean to you.
The Maslow Sandton has put together some fabulous offers for the weekend, which include special stay over rates, and the fabulous Sunday Society picnic with Graham Beck bubbly.
Friday the 13th is definitely not an unlucky day as it heralds the beginning The Love in Full Bloom Weekend Escape from just R7 338 per couple, saving you nearly R500. Turn Valentine’s Day into a luxurious two-night celebration of love by arriving on Friday, unwinding in elegant comfort, and enjoying a weekend designed for connection, indulgence and ease.
This package includes two nights’ luxury accommodation (check in Friday, 13 February, check out Sunday, 15 February); daily breakfast at Lacuna Bistro; Savour The Romance six-course dinner at Lacuna Bistro on Saturday evening; and the Love in Bloom Sunday Society Graham Beck picnic on Sunday.

A thoughtfully crafted six-course menu, where the colours on the plate have been carefully considered, sets the tone for an elegant and romantic night at Lacuna Bistro.
It begins with a beetroot-cured salmon rose with crème fraîche and citrus pearls as an amuse-bouche, followed by chilled beetroot velouté with caramelised gold beets, goat’s cheese foam and balsamic pearls. The entrée is chicken and mushroom tortellini with burnt orange reduction and sage butter.
Rosé sorbet with pink peppercorn brittle will cleanse the palate before the main course of beef fillet rossini with bone marrow, red wine jus, arancini and rainbow baby carrots; or grilled sea bass with saffron beurre blanc, tabouleh, baby fennel and pickled lemon.
Finish with decadent chocolate & raspberry dome, almond praline and gold leaf.
The cost of R1 700 per couple includes a welcome drink, dinner and live entertainment. The dress code is red with a touch of white.
Extend the romance with a stylish overnight escape for R4 140 per couple which includes one night’s luxury accommodation (check in from 14h00 Saturday, check out Sunday, 15 February) and breakfast at Lacuna Bistro on Sunday morning.
Sunday’s Love in Bloom: Sunday Society Graham Beck picnic, from 13h00 to 17h00, will be a relaxed yet refined garden affair where love lingers long. Sip, savour and soak up the atmosphere with live music, gourmet bites and bubbles on arrival.
The picnic comprises a hot selection of beef kebabs with chimichurri, panko prawns with coconut aioli, seared lasagne with chicken and butternut, pork loin piccata with sauce vierge, and cheese arancini. The harvest table will hold a selection of bread and dips, herby potato salad, pasta salad, traditional Greek salad, and a cheese board with crackers and preserves.
The picnic basket contains popcorn and house-made potato crisps, as well as the desserts: churros, ginger cheesecake, and red velvet opera cake.
