Yes, there will be chocolate, and lots of it, at South Africa’s premier holiday destination
It’s the early bird that catches the Easter Bunny – or at least the spoils he leaves behind. And at Sun City, the Easter long weekend is as much about indulgent dining as it is about family fun, with The Palace setting the tone early on with a series of elegant Easter dinners at Crystal Court starting on Good Friday and running to Sunday.
The Great Sun City Easter Egg Adventure
On Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 April 2026, Sun City presents The Great Sun City Easter Egg Adventure, a fun-filled, family-friendly Easter morning at Sun Central and the Valley of Waves. But you’ll have to leap out of bed quickly because the 10 000 Easter eggs will be ready to be found from 07h00 both mornings.
It’s just the beginning of a magical Easter weekend for the whole family, with not only the egg hunts, but interactive activities and live entertainment. Keep your eyes out as the Easter Bunny will be hopping between hotels for fun photo opportunities.
South Africa’s Ultimate Leisure Destination
Sun City is the jewel in Sun International’s crown and South Africa’s ultimate leisure destination, offering luxury accommodation, more than 101 activities and round-the-clock entertainment. Every year, millions of visitors are attracted by its temperate climate and lush green beauty, surrounded by a craggy mountain backdrop and the nearby 55 000-hectare Pilanesberg National Park stocked with Africa’s Big Five.
Not for nothing did Sun City once again win the “South Africa's Leading Family Resort 2025” at the World Travel Awards.
Accommodation Options For Every Guest
A choice of hotels mean that guests can match their lifestyle requirements and budget to their accommodation, from the five-star The Palace and Cascades hotels to the three-star Cabanas, four-star Sun City hotel or the self-catering Vacation Club apartments.
Activities And Entertainment For The Whole Family
Once you’ve settled in, it’s time to explore all the exciting activities, because Sun City takes Easter Weekend to the ultimate top level.
Liven up your family holiday with a bit of friendly competition at the new Lazer Zone at The Magic Company in Sun Central when you suit up in infrared-enabled gear, head out as a team and face off against your opponents.
For those who want to cool off, the Valley of Waves, the man-made water park set on a palm-fringed beach lapped by crystal water, offers legendary water attractions including thrilling slides, the Lazy River for children, and a wave pool that promises hours of fun. Or just find a lounger and read a book under a palm tree.
At Waterworld, a man-made lake allows guests to parasail, jet-ski, wake board, water-ski and much more, or simply enjoy a sundowner cruise.
Family entertainment doesn’t stop there. The Magic Company has a wide range of games and ten-pin bowling, Breakout Games where players have to solve puzzles before escaping a locked room, the Jump Park with outdoor trampolines, mini golf and mini quad biking, Sun Movies for the latest on the big screen, and a rail adventure on the Stimela Train.
Outdoor and sporting enthusiasts will want to check out the four padel courts catering to seasoned players and newcomers eager to learn the ropes of this fast-growing sport. There is also a five-kilometre running track at the Gary Player Golf Course where guests can walk, jog or sprint, and golfers can test their handicaps on one (or both) of two world-class Gary Player-designed 18-hole golf courses.
The brave at heart can try an extreme adventure slide, alone or in tandem, at speeds of up to 120km per hour along a 2km-long zip slide 280m above the ground.
Nature And Adventure Experiences
For something more relaxing, the magnificent Botanical Gardens are an attraction on their own, varying from a tropical rain forest to various indigenous landscapes, and guests can meander along paths of these forest habitats to view a wide range of bird and plant species.
Visitors can view Africa’s big five at the adjacent Pilanesberg National Park, either from a vehicle, bicycle or quad bike, on foot with a tracker, or while floating in a hot-air balloon flight at dawn.
Entertainment And Nightlife
Then change pace again: For bright lights and excitement, the colourful 24-hour casino has the latest slot machine technology and gaming tables of roulette, blackjack, poker, and baccarat, in a Las Vegas-style setting.
You’ll love every moment at Sun City Resort, and never hear the words “I’m bored!” out of anyone’s mouth.
