Polokwane Down Syndrome Outreach invites community members, schools, fitness groups, corporates, and families to join a walk which will help amplify a message of inclusion and support. Every step taken contributes to greater awareness and stronger community ties.
"Through this event, we aim to highlight the importance of inclusive support systems while celebrating the beauty, uniqueness, and abilities of persons with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities,” says Dionne Davidson, Polokwane Outreach Manager for Down Syndrome South Africa.
“This event is also our main fundraiser for the year, enabling us to provide support in hospitals to new parents, provide information beyond the diagnosis to families, and have regular support groups and events for persons with intellectual abilities.”
