Christmas Night Markets and Festive Family Fun Planned for Crocworld Conservation Centre

The festive season is here, and Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh is the perfect destination for family-friendly activities. From the Crocworld Carols by Candlelight Day and Night Market to exciting daily animal interactions and the newly launched Jikaleza Outdoor Adventures, there’s something for everyone.
“The festive season is such an amazing time on the KZN South Coast, and we’re looking forward to welcoming holidaymakers and regular guests for new and exciting activities,” said Susan Badat, Crocworld Conservation Centre Manager.
Crocworld Carols by Candlelight Day and Night Market
- Date: Saturday, 14 December
- Time: 11am – 9pm
- Venue: Crocworld Parking Lot
- Cost: R10 per person (proceeds go to Crop Team NPO to assist families in need)
This festive market will feature:
- Live entertainment by violinist Marianna (5pm).
- Food stalls, craft stalls, and festive Christmas lights.
- Activities for kids, including a Bubble House and ziplining with Jikaleza Aerial Adventures, running all day and after dark.
The Carols by Candlelight Christmas Service (6:30pm – 7:30pm) will be led by Coastal Revival Centre Church, with visitors invited to bring homemade decorations for the Christmas tree or donate presents to District 49 Children’s Home in Umkomaas.

Crocworld Holiday Programme
Crocworld is home to almost 400 animals, including crocodiles, snakes, tortoises, monitor lizards, and a variety of birds. The holiday programme offers:
- 09:30am – 10:30am: Guided tour.
- 10:00am – 11:00am: Snake demonstration.
- 11:00am: Nile crocodile feeding.
- 11:30am: Juvenile Nile crocodile interaction.
- 2:00pm: Marabou Stork (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) or Cape Vulture feeding (Tues, Thurs, Sat).
- 3:00pm: Nile crocodile feeding.
- 3:30pm: Juvenile Nile crocodile handling.
Celebrate Henry’s 124th Birthday
Join Crocworld on 16 December to celebrate Henry, the oldest Nile crocodile in captivity, as he turns 124 years old! Guests will enjoy free cupcakes (while stocks last) and meet Colgate, the centre’s second-largest crocodile at over 90 years old.
A Crocworld Raffle will also run throughout December:
- R10 per ticket.
- Prize: A kids’ activity hamper valued at R1,000.
- Tickets available at Crocworld Curio Shop.
- Draw Date: 3 January 2025.

Fish Eagle Café
Enjoy scenic views of migrating whales, dolphins, and the Sardine Run while dining on delicious meals and festive specials, including Boujee Alcoholic Slushies and cocktails.

Jikaleza Outdoor Adventures
