Hyde Park Corner brings F1 Simulator and Ferrari thrills to Centre Court this Father’s Day
Written by: Hyde Park Corner Save to Instapaper
This Father’s Day weekend, Hyde Park Corner is turning Centre Court into a racetrack, with a Ferrari simulator and a display of Ferrari and supercars for shoppers, families and motorsport fans to enjoy between 19 and 21 June.
It gives dads a reason to bring the family out for something other than the usual lunch booking, with a chance to compete for genuine racing prizes along the way.
The Ferrari Simulator Challenge gives visitors the chance to take the wheel, feel the pull of a tight corner and chase the fastest lap time on the leaderboard.
No racing licence or prior experience is needed, just a steady hand and the nerve to push for a faster time on each attempt.
It is open to anyone keen to try their hand, from seasoned racing fans to dads and kids looking for a different kind of Father’s Day outing.
Entry costs R100 per attempt, payable by card only, and the simulator runs from 14:00 to 18:00 on Friday 19 June, 11:00 to 18:00 on Saturday 20 June and 10:00 to 15:00 on Sunday 21 June.
Ferrari Simulator Challenge Prizes
The fastest driver on the leaderboard wins a Pablo Clark Racing Experience worth R20,000 together with a R10,000 Hyde Park Corner gift card.
The prize puts the winner behind the wheel of a Ferrari 360 Challenge race car on a real track, guided by a professional racing driver through every gear change and corner.
Second place takes home a R5,000 Hyde Park Corner gift card and third place a R3,000 gift card, with further prizes still to be added to the leaderboard rewards.
Ferrari And Supercar Display
Alongside the simulator, Hyde Park Corner has partnered with Zebra Square Automobile to bring a selection of cars into Centre Court for the weekend.
The dealership is known for its curated collection of classic cars, modern classics and supercars, usually shown in its own gallery style showroom within the centre.
For the Father’s Day weekend, that collection moves into Centre Court, giving visitors a closer look at cars not always on view to passing shoppers.
Father’s Day At Hyde Park Corner
The simulator and the car display are just a part of Hyde Park Corner’s alongside its usual mix of stores and restaurants.
For families still deciding what to do with Dad this year, the centre offers an easy combination: a lap in the simulator, a browse through its stores for a gift and a table booked at one of its restaurants to round off the day.
Hyde Park Corner is located in Johannesburg.
The Ferrari Simulator Challenge and Ferrari car display run in Centre Court from Friday 19 June to Sunday 21 June, with simulator entry at R100 per attempt, card payments only, and full event times available on the day.
