Clearwater Mall marks the countdown to Christmas with festive fun for the whole family

As Christmas edges closer and the pressure of last-minute shopping sets in, Clearwater Mall is setting the pace for a joyful festive finish. With longer trading hours, hands-on holiday activities for children and meaningful community initiatives, the West Rand favourite is the go-to shopping destination for the final days before Christmas.
Until 23 December, shoppers can take advantage of extended trading hours from 9am to 9pm, with adjusted hours continuing through to the end of the year. The added flexibility gives families more breathing room to shop, dine and enjoy the festive atmosphere without racing the clock.
One of the season’s standout features is the Disney-inspired Christmas tree in the Piazza, created in support of Reach For A Dream. Every plush toy displayed on the towering tree will be donated to children facing life-threatening illnesses, offering comfort and joy during an incredibly difficult time. Shoppers can contribute by donating R50 via QR code, visiting the Reach For A Dream website, or engaging directly with the in-mall activation. The initiative is supported by PEP, FNB, Lego and Toys R Us.
“Christmas is about connection, generosity and shared experiences,” says Prianka Singh Rodgers, Marketing Manager of Clearwater Mall. “This year, we wanted to create a festive programme that brings families together, supports important causes and makes the final shopping days feel enjoyable rather than stressful.”
Children are firmly in the spotlight this festive season, with a series of bookable creative workshops inspired by much-loved Disney characters. The Creative Corner at Stitch’s Island Workshop, where parents can book dedicated time slots for their children, ensuring a relaxed and well-managed experience. Activities include a Lilo and Stitch-themed bauble collection, where kids receive baubles to decorate using ribbons, glitter, gems, beads and stickers, creating personalised ornaments for their Christmas trees.
Young artists can also take part in an island-style paint and sip session, learning to create gradient-based paintings before adding Stitch cut-outs to complete their tropical scenes. For something a little different, Stitch-inspired snow jars offer a festive twist, with DIY kits including iridescent snow, glitter, pom-poms and themed stickers. All activities are subject to stock availability. Bookings via Webtickets.
Families can also capture the season with festive photos with Santa, available daily until 24 December at the Edgars Court on the lower level. Professional photo packages are affordably priced, making it easy to take home a keepsake of the holidays.
To further ease the festive load, Clearwater Mall has partnered with the Helderkruin Lions to offer complimentary gift wrapping until 24 December at selected entrances. Shoppers can simply make a donation, with all proceeds supporting the Lions’ community work.
With gift guides, competitions, gift cards and a social media giveaway offering a 1.2-metre Stitch plush toy, Clearwater Mall brings together shopping, entertainment and giving back in one festive destination.
“As the year draws to a close, we want shoppers to know they can find everything they need right here,” Singh Rodgers adds. “It’s about ending the festive season on a high note, with experiences that matter.”
