Starbucks launches five-drink pistachio range as summer rituals replace abandoned resolutions
As 2026 unfolds, many people are leaning into simpler ways to enjoy the start of the year. Rather than chasing big resolutions, there’s growing appreciation for small rituals that bring a sense of ease and enjoyment to everyday routines. This summer, Starbucks is inviting customers to savour those moments with the return of its much-loved pistachio range.
The limited-time collection features three new drinks: the Pistachio Shaken Espresso, Pistachio Macchiato, and the Pistachio Matcha Latte, which blends matcha green tea with white chocolate pistachio sauce. Fan favourites also return, including the Pistachio Velvet Latte and Pistachio Hot Chocolate, both available hot and iced.
“At this time of year, people are often drawn to small moments that feel familiar and enjoyable,” says Adrian Mazey, CEO of Rand Capital Coffee, licensee of Starbucks South Africa. “Simple rituals like a drink you look forward to or a pause in the middle of a busy day can become a natural part of everyday life. It’s less about big intentions and more about moments that feel good and easy to return to.”
This focus on ritual reflects a broader shift in how people approach wellbeing. Instead of dramatic lifestyle changes, there’s growing value in creating gentle moments of intention within existing routines. A morning pause that marks the start of the day, an afternoon break shared with a colleague or a quiet moment between commitments can offer consistency and comfort without pressure or expectation.
For those who enjoy slower, more reflective moments, Starbucks is also welcoming back Guatemala Casi Cielo, a single origin offering first introduced in 2004. Sourced from the volcanic Antigua region, this limited-edition release features bright lemon and cocoa notes, well suited to unhurried mornings or relaxed afternoons.
Complementing the drinks, two new merchandise collections launch alongside the range. Tropical Radiance features vibrant coral florals, while Summer Breeze brings cool teal tones. Both collections include reusable tumblers and bottles designed to support everyday rituals beyond the season.
The pistachio range and selected merchandise are available now until late February at Starbucks stores nationwide. Visit starbucks.co.za or follow @StarbucksSA for more information.
