Another reason to celebrate with La Motte

With La Motte introducing its reimagined experience at its historic Franschhoek property, there are plenty more reasons for guests to celebrate. Whether enjoying a food, wine, art or music experience, a glass of beautiful South African Cap Classique, always add a special touch to the occasion. We are therefore delighted to introduce a beautiful new sparkling wine to the estate's Reserve Collection.
The new La Motte Reserve Collection Cap Classique is a blend of 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir of which 20% includes a reserve wine, half of which was matured in older French oak barrels. Grapes were sourced from premium vineyards in Stellenbosch (50%), the West Coast (35%) and Elgin (15%). The wine spent 24 months on the lees before disgorgement and final corking under wire muzzle.
Complementing the estate's acclaimed Méthode Cap Classique from its Limited Collection Series, this new vibrant and elegant sparkling wine offers expressive aromas, with those characteristic flavours of fermentation - brioche and roasted cashew. The palate is finely textured with delicate bubbles, a refined length and exceptional finesse. Notes of lemon meringue linger on the finish, complemented by a subtle mineral edge.
A versatile partner to South African cuisine, we love to share it as a relaxing glass on the tasting room veranda and with a variety of delightful pairings (especially the oysters!) on the menu of L'Ami Family Brasserie. It makes for an authentic Winelands welcome for guests at the exclusive JAN Franschhoek experience and it is the perfect companion to tell the story of fermentation, when served with the exceptional breads of the La Motte Bakery.
Available from the estate, our online shop and leading retailers, the La Motte Reserve Collection MCC is also the ideal way to celebrate the South African summer holidays and festive season.
It makes for a beautiful and treasured gift that we can deliver to your loved ones, but will also be the obvious choice to take you from a celebratory breakfast, to a light lunch, sunsets and festive table dining!
A versatile food partner, it pairs beautifully with the simplicity of eggs in all its forms as well as local cheeses - especially soft varieties. At the same time, it is an elegant companion to luxurious dishes such as oysters and crayfish, delicate enough to be served with line fish (with or without sauce) and full-bodied enough for the buttery treat of savoury pastries like mushroom quiche. Also enjoy with summertime favourites such as fresh salads, carpaccio, and lighter meats such as poultry, veal and pork.
Make gifting and entertaining easy this summer and festive season and order your La Motte Reserve Collection Cap Classique right now!
