Spring has arrived, bringing with it a wave of new life at Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh! The team is delighted to announce the arrival of seven new kid goats – three males and four females – who are already capturing the hearts of visitors in the popular barnyard section.
“This is a really great start to our spring season at Crocworld, and a great way for visitors to celebrate South Africa’s wildlife this September – which is both Heritage and Tourism Month,” said Busani Mthiyane, Animal Curator at Crocworld Conservation Centre. “Our baby goats are settling in well at our Barnyard section, and we encourage visitors to come out and enjoy the chance to interact with our animals while enjoying the beautiful spring weather outdoors.”
Alongside the new baby goats, the barnyard remains a favourite spot for young animal lovers who enjoy the chance to meet a variety of farmyard friends, including an emu, pig, sheep, chickens, and rabbits.
Beyond the Barnyard fun, visitors to Crocworld Conservation Centre can look forward to:
- Daily animal interactions and fascinating feeding demonstrations.
- Meeting iconic crocodile residents like Henry, the world’s oldest known Nile crocodile in captivity at 124 years old, as well as his long-time friend, Colgate.
- Strolling through lush coastal forest teeming with birdlife, with more than 200 local species to spot.
- Taking in panoramic ocean views from the award-winning Fish Eagle Café, which offers great refreshments and meals for the whole family.
- Aerial ziplining adventure at Jikaleza Outdoor Adventures, based at Crocworld (Contact: 068 255 7200 | This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
“Many of our visitors are delighted by the variety of animals and incredible outdoor spaces we offer at Crocworld,” added Mthiyane. “With the warmer weather, spectacular ocean views, and now a new generation of farmyard friends, spring is the perfect season to visit. Whether it’s families looking for a fun day out, tourists exploring the beautiful KZN South Coast, or schools seeking an educational and interactive outing with guided wildlife tours, crocodile feedings, and hands-on encounters, Crocworld has something special for everyone.”
