Johannesburg - Entrepreneur and author Tiisetso Maloma has announced the release of his latest and ninth book, "Innovate Like Elon Musk," an exploration of innovation strategies inspired by the trailblazing entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Published by Bula Buka Publishers, the book delves into Musk's ventures, such as Tesla, PayPal, and SpaceX, and presents a simple yet powerful framework that empowers anyone to unleash their innovative potential.
The book employs the concept of "material-to-proprietary novelty," a unique framework coined by Tiisetso Maloma. Through this lens, readers gain a deeper understanding of Musk's ingenious innovation tactics and how they can apply them to their own projects, regardless of complexity.
"Elon Musk is a modern-day icon of entrepreneurship and innovation," says Maloma. "His remarkable achievements across multiple industries, from finance to automotive and space travel, serve as a perfect backdrop for explaining the various degrees of innovation."
Drawing parallels between Musk and past iconic innovators like Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, and Thomas Edison, Maloma showcases how Musk's multidisciplinary approach has been instrumental in his success.
"I see Elon as the epitome of a modern innovator, a true synthesizer of talent," Maloma adds. "He plays multiple roles and recruits exceptional engineers, fostering an environment of 'material-to-proprietary novelty.'"
Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Elon Musk's journey to success began when he moved to Canada at 18, later pursuing education in the United States. After co-founding Zip2, which was later acquired for over $300 million, Musk went on to establish several unicorn companies, including PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX, and Solar City.
The book, a simplified breakdown of how innovation works through Musk's pioneering endeavours, holds particular significance for entrepreneurs and employees seeking to learn how to innovate.
"Innovate like Elon Musk" is Tiisetso Maloma's ninth book and releases alongside the tenth titled "90 Days to Create Launch." As an author, Maloma's work centres around providing simple frameworks to understand entrepreneurship and innovation.
Tiisetso Maloma is the founder of Bula Buka Publishers, Startup Picnic Academy, and several other former startups.
