Global State of Leadership Survey to Benefit Leaders, Organisations and Society at Large

PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, Wednesday, 20 May 2026 — The Global State of Leadership Survey, a comprehensive research project to track the state of leadership in the world, will serve individual leaders, their organisations and other stakeholders.

Inspired by landmark indices like the Gallup State of the Global Workplace Report, the Global State of Leadership (GSL) Survey turns the spotlight directly to leadership, its impact, and what shifts this.

Powered by the EGG3 Leadership Assessment — a diagnostic framework developed by leadership development authority Ian Hatton of Totally Morpheus — the initiative tracks a threefold purpose crucial to the modern socioeconomic landscape.

First, the GSL Survey will benefit leaders, who will receive a confidential Instant Report and a personalised micro-learning Pathway to support their growth over 15 days. To date, this process has delivered significant, measurable results.

Second, the GSL Survey will provide organisations with significant leadership support through the follow-up materials for leaders. Case studies have shown this process to improve both human and financial outcomes for participating organisations.

Finally, the Survey will benefit society at large with a vast body of data included in the final Global State of Leadership Report, slated for publication in late November 2026. Ultimately, the aim is that the ripple effect can have a positive impact on all stakeholders, improving broader economic, environmental and societal conditions.

Leadership Crisis And Global Impact

According to Ian Hatton, creator of the EGG3 Leadership Assessment driving the Survey data, “We all understand that leadership is in a crisis place. And we would love to see better leadership. But maybe the starting point for that is to understand the state of leadership globally first.”

During the launch event, attendees will explore the urgent need for a Survey like this, the rich benefits to all those who participate, and the data-based results already achieved.

The launch event will be hosted by Ian Hatton, whose extensive work underpins the Survey, and Marie Le Roux, who conceived the concept of the Survey as a means to benefit the broader public with this work.
