The home-baked treats and freshly brewed coffee of Olive Cow & Co can now be enjoyed within the exquisite coastal setting of the Renishaw Coastal Precinct in Scottburgh.
Visitors can hike or mountain bike along magnificent trails through gorgeous coastal forests and farmlands in the precinct area before enjoying a well-deserved refreshment and meal. Officially opening the last weekend of June 2024, this delightful coffee shop infuses great taste, a comfortable environment, and now the ideal location alongside Renishaw Hills, a mature lifestyle estate.
Owned by Johan and Margie Lourens who started in corporate backgrounds, Olive Cow & Co already has a huge customer base in the KZN South Coast, having been previously based in central Scottburgh.
The relocation gives loyal and new customers a chance to experience the same welcoming atmosphere and incredible eats in the gorgeous Renishaw Coastal Precinct. “We initially planned on having home industries and refurbished furniture outlet but discovered there was few coffee shops in Scottburgh town at the time so we decided to give it a go!” recalled Margie.
“It has been a huge learning curve for us but we love it. We have so many customers who have become friends. We love the small-town vibe and relaxed living. We also love Renishaw Hills as it’s so peaceful, has lots of history, and you feel like you’re living rurally.” Patrons can enjoy a great menu offering breakfasts and light lunches of toasted ciabatta sandwiches, quiche and salads, pies and chips, chicken schnitzels, vegetarian options and more, with a small kiddies menu to start.
“We have some of the best cake and coffee in town as well as delectable scones, muffins, lemon meringue, milk tart, and cheesecake, with more to come. We also serve milkshakes, cappuccinos, lattes, summer coolers, and cool drinks in our list of refreshments.
We will venture into Meal of the Day, Sunday lunches, and pizzas as we grow.” This home-styled coffee shop will also stock freshly-made preserves and home-baked goods for sale, as well as home décor items and jewellery. In support of the beautiful TC Robertson Reserve, Olive & Cow Co stocks their book on sale at the café.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Renishaw Coastal Precinct residents, outside visitors who want to experience the lush coastal setting while enjoying our great meal options, as well as hikers and cyclists looking for a well-deserved meal,” said Margie.
