Turn Mandela Day Minutes into Moola to keep quadriplegics and paraplegics moving

This Mandela Day, the QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) is inviting South Africans to turn their 67 Minutes into Moola and change a life by giving QASA members more independence!

A functioning wheelchair is a lifeline for quadriplegics and paraplegics.

It offers them freedom, dignity, independence and the ability to participate.

Keeping Members Moving

The QASA Assistive Devices Fund is aimed at keeping its members moving by funding repairs, spare parts or replacement wheelchairs so that members can live life to their full potential.

“During our outreaches, we meet people who have been confined to their beds for months because they don’t have a wheelchair. Others haven’t left the house in years,” shares Ashley Scott, general manager of QASA.

“We are on a mission to ensure our members aren’t trapped.”

In the words of Nelson Mandela, “Our freedom cannot be complete while others in the world are not free”.

Donations raised through the “67 Moola to Keep Quadriplegics and Paraplegics Moving” campaign will go towards the QASA Wheelchair Fund.

Ways To Donate

Although any and all donations will be welcomed, QASA encourages donations in honour of the 67 minutes for Mandela Day with the following tiers:

R67 – "The Spare Part" that provides essential daily support for quadriplegics and paraplegics.

R670 – "New Wheels" that gets stationary wheels turning for quadriplegics and paraplegics.

R6 700 – "The Manual Wheelchair" which pushes towards greater independence for the QASA community.

R67 000 – "The Power Wheelchair" that powers life-changing freedom for the QASA community.

Donations can be made via EFT or Payfast on the QASA website, or via the BackaBuddy Campaign (https://www.backabuddy.co.za/campaign/67-moola-to-keep-quads-and-paras-mooving).
