Newmark Aligns Regional Operational Leadership to Support Strategic Growth Across Africa and the Indian Ocean

Newmark Hotels & Reserves has announced a series of strategic operational leadership changes that reinforce the group’s continued expansion throughout Africa and the Indian Ocean. These developments follow key appointments made earlier this year, including Gareth Venner as Director of Sales and Reinard Korf stepping into the role of Director of Group Operations & Business Systems, positioning Newmark for a milestone year of openings in 2026 and beyond.
With several significant launches on the horizon, including Toro River at Toro River Lodges in Limpopo (opening 1 December 2025), Bupenyu Luxury Boutique Lodge near Victoria Falls (Q1 2026), Thitaka Lodge in Namibia (Q1 2026), and The Lenox, a cultural landmark reimagined in Cape Town’s Gardens district (2027), the hospitality group continues to shape a future defined by scale, elevated guest experience and meaningful hospitality. Together, these additions represent some of the most significant growth milestones in Newmark’s nearly 20-year journey.
“Our growth is exciting, and we are committed to scaling responsibly,” says Reinard Korf, Director of Group Operations & Business Systems. “This restructure has one clear priority: to better support our teams, our leaders and our property owners as we move into a defining chapter for the Newmark brand.”
Leadership Updates and Regional Focus
New Appointment: Anthony Moskovitch — Regional Operations Manager, Africa & Indian Ocean
Based at The Catalyst Hotel in Johannesburg, Anthony joins Newmark with more than 20 years of operational leadership experience spanning hotel openings, project management, operational optimisation and guest satisfaction delivery.
His regional remit includes key destinations such as QWABI Private Game Reserve (Limpopo), Lakowe Lakes (Nigeria), La Maison d’Été and Mystik Lifestyle Boutique Hotel (Mauritius), Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge (Zanzibar) and Gorilla Heights Lodge (Uganda), along with the upcoming additions of Bupenyu and Thitaka Lodges to the portfolio.
“I am passionate about meaningful hospitality and operational excellence,” says Moskovitch. “I am thrilled to support a portfolio defined by such diverse destinations and extraordinary potential.”
Anthony officially joined the group in early October.
Michael Liffmann — Director of Pre-Openings & Portfolio Development (Western Province Operational Oversight)
Michael leads all pre-opening programmes and supports major refurbishments and upgrades across the portfolio. His regional oversight extends to Western Province hotels — including The Winchester Hotel, The Onyx, La Splendida, Blaauwklippen, Victoria & Alfred Hotel, Queen Victoria Hotel, Dock House Boutique Hotel and The Rockefeller — strengthening operational support for Cape Town’s key assets during a period of dynamic growth.
Andrew Rosettenstein— General Manager, Future Found Sanctuary (Regional Lead, Boutique Lodges)
Andrew continues to lead Future Found Sanctuary in Cape Town as General Manager, while expanding his operational focus to Newmark’s boutique lodge collection, including Motswari, Mount Camdeboo and Nkomazi Private Game Reserves, as well as Toro River upon opening. His role brings personalised stewardship to properties shaped by their natural environments, intimate guest experiences and the distinct storytelling that defines their character.
People-Led Growth
“Newmark has expanded significantly in less than two decades,” says Neil Markovitz, CEO of Newmark Hotels & Reserves. “Our growth has always been guided by intention, ensuring we build teams that bring meaningful hospitality to life. Strengthening our operational structure allows us to support that growth with excellence. Our people are the foundation of that commitment.”
With a sharpened operational structure in place and several high-profile launches ahead, Newmark continues to invest in leadership that ensures agility and excellence in guest experience across its portfolio. As the group accelerates into 2026, these moves reaffirm Newmark’s commitment to excellence, cultural relevance and regional empowerment while providing growth-aligned support for every property in the portfolio.
