Graffit Gives Shimmy a Make Over with  Imported Specialised Vinyl Wrap

Graffiti, pioneers in the field of transit (vehicle and trucking) and fixed large format branding, has recently given Shimmy Beach Club’s Jeep Sahara a make-over using a specialised Cybershield Vinyl that is so specialised it had to be imported for the job.  The vinyl’s metallic mirror finish is a real crowd pleaser and as Shimmy Beach has quickly discovered – is guaranteed to attract on and off road attention. 

An upmarket club in Cape Town, the purpose behind the high-end, eye-catching wrap was to get people to notice and start talking about the beach club brand. They opted to use mobile branding as the catalyst for the conversation; populating images of the new look on all its currently active social media channels.  Part of the appeal is the contrast that’s created by wrapping the iconic “Go anywhere. Do anything” vehicle in a sexy silver wrap – giving it distinction beyond compare.

A thicker than usual digital cast vinyl, the job required a particular set of application skills and according to Graffiti Director, Darren Kirby, it took almost four days to complete the decidedly specialised wrapping process; time that included stripping off the original digital print wrap applied by Graffiti.

“A highly conformable vinyl film with a very high shine, glossy, mirror like finish, this wrap is normally used for accent branding only. But never shy of a challenge, when this long-term client put in the request, we made it our mission to go the extra mile and find a way to deliver on the mandate,” says Kirby. 

The mirror-like finish gives a realistic chrome appearance that is normally difficult or expensive to apply. The 60in widths make it possible to wrap virtually any section of a vehicle without joins which is an obvious benefit.  The final strong bond ensures a secure and weatherproof finish and this version of the vinyl is also printable and scratch resistant.

According to Kirby this jeep is one of a kind with few if any other such branded jeeps on the road in Cape Town. 

With results that superseded all expectations, Shimmy Beach Club is so pleased with the mileage it’s getting from the wrap, that it has commissioned Graffiti to also wrap its Bentley.
