Oceans Africa Opens the 2025/26 Dive Cape Town Season

Written by: Oceans Africa Save to Instapaper

Cape Town, South Africa, November 2025, Oceans Africa has launched the 2025/26 Dive Cape Town Summer Season, marking the start of three months of prime diving along the Cape Peninsula, one of the few coastlines where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean systems influence the same coastline. The contrast between the cold Benguela upwelling and the warmer Agulhas influence produces a temperate marine environment that supports kelp forests, granite reefs, wrecks, and pelagic species within minutes of shore.

Operating private charters from Simon’s Town and Hout Bay, Oceans Africa gives divers flexible access to the best dive sites in Cape Town, including False Bay’s sheltered reefs and the clear-water Atlantic seaboard. Each trip is tailored to conditions, visibility, and diver experience, with small groups ensuring a low-impact approach inside the Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected Area.

Two Oceans, One Coast

The company’s launch highlights Cape Town’s dual-ocean dynamic, a year-round diving opportunity where conditions shift seasonally but seldom close entirely. Summer southeasterlies bring clear Atlantic visibility exceeding 15 m, while winter westerlies enrich False Bay with warmer, nutrient-dense water that sustains diverse invertebrate life and reef fish.

Private Charters and Flexible Planning

Unlike group dive centers, Oceans Africa offers exclusive charters aboard its SAMSA-certified vessel Sea Otter. Trips are adjusted to wind direction and swell to provide safe, rewarding scuba diving in Cape Town across reef, wreck, kelp, and shark-diving environments.
