Covid19 Lockdown Status Update - South African Immigration

Home Affairs offices will begin to open from 1 June for essential services, following normal protocols(minimal staff, social distancing, wearing of PPE gear);
VFS services- which provides the front offices for all visa applications, will not reopen at level 3;
The Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaleidi, this week announced that people who need to return from South Africa to jobs, studies or family abroad, may do so by applying to Home Affairs, and they will have to observe all protocols, provide a Covoid 19 test certificate, obtain permission from the host country and arrange their own flights .The travel industry was told on 30 June that they may be allowed to reopen lodges and guesthouses subject to protocols- the detailed gazette should be available within the next week.for any further info
