The WMSC has a history of attracting elite competitors, with multiple Championship Tour (CT) champions among its roster of winners, including:

  • Tom Curren (USA) – Three-time WSL Champion
  • Layne Beachley (AUS) – Seven-time WSL Champion
  • Rochelle Ballard (HAW)
  • Rob Page (AUS)
  • Heather Clark (RSA)
  • Juan Ashton (PUR) – WMSC’s most decorated surfer

Mentasti is particularly optimistic, given her familiarity with the venue from her time as Head Coach for the 2022 SA Junior Surfing Team:
"We are a small team representing our beautiful country, but we all have big dreams and would love to return with a few medals."
