DURBAN, South Africa, 5th APRIL 2022 – Bigger, bolder and better than before, Global Team Horse Racing (GTH), a team-based thoroughbred horse racing product which is fast-paced and offers thrilling entertainment and fun for families, is back with a full racing series in 2022. The developers and partners are making this announcement hot on the heels of the unbridled success of the full-scale trial that took place in Durban last year.
GTH has partnered with local operator Gold Circle, who manage the Hollywoodbets Greyville racecourse in Durban, as well as the Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg. Gold Circle has added the additional four races to the official racing calendar.
A product more than five years in the making, GTH Racing is set for the world-wide premier of the GTH series, set to take place in Durban in August and September 2022. The series will run under lights over four weeks and is expected to attract thousands of fans, celebrities, and horse racing glitterati. The events will be run as high-octane two-hour events packed full of thrilling races, world class entertainment, picnic areas and a large kiddie’s entertainment area for the younger fans, set right at the track side.
“Significant sponsorship has been secured already and a radio partnership agreement with East Coast Radio will keep locals up to speed on exciting announcements as the events draw closer,” says Angus Campbell who heads up the GTH Racing team in South Africa, “we are also pleased to announce that the full two-hour event will also be broadcast live on SuperSport as well as other digital streaming channels.”
