Brave Entrants Complete 24 Hour Race To Raise Funds For CHOC

On Saturday 27th April, 50 brave entrants ran 24 hours in the Spartan Baby Badass Ultra (SBBU) challenge. Four participants ran 160.9km (100 miles) and 46 ran 100km, to raise money for the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa
Two 100 mile runners did not finish, and five did not finish the 100km. This was a self-supported running race where 50 runners ran either 4.167kms or 4.167 miles every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours. The runners did a variety of loops around the beautiful streets of Essexwold and through the grounds of the Italian Club, past SetteBello restaurant and alongside the neighbouring Italian retirement village, Casa Serena.
The runners are everyday non-professional runners who did the Ultra to test their limits in a safe community environment. For the duration of the race, challengers stayed at the barracks located at the Italian Club’s pool room near the swimming pool.
