17 km south-east of Citrusdal, surrounded by the Koue Bokkeveld Mountains on the road to Ceres lies Elandskloof, a once thriving community of self sustaining farmers, who became victims of the Apartheid Government’s land dispossession in 1961.

More than 70 families were affected by this land dispossession. Soon after the dawn of the new democracy, in 1996, the land was returned to its previous inhabitants under the new land restitution programme.

Engineering Company involved in community project

{PP}Somerset West based structural and civil engineering consultancy, Moroff & Kuhne, were recently involved in the engineering of the Emavundleni Centre for HIV Research in Crossroads, Cape Town.

The Centre which was established by the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation (DTHF), is a non profit organisation and comprises a team of over 100 dedicated doctors, nurses, researchers and community-trained field workers all of who are involved in the research, training and treatment of HIV and related diseases.
