Unforgettable Evening with Chris Bertish at The Pipe
Written by: Olivia Jones Communications Save to Instapaper
Crowds flocked to The Pipe restaurant in Scottburgh on Sunday (14 December) to spend an evening with ocean adventurer, big-wave surfer, author, inspirational speaker, and global changemaker, Chris Bertish, for the launch of his highly anticipated new book, Super Stoked!. The evening included a film documentary and talk by Chris, both of which were deeply inspiring, with Chris’s story transcending surfing and the ocean; captivating the crowd with his message of resilience, purpose, kindness and the courage to chase your dreams.
The event was well-supported by local surfers, ocean lovers and aspiring groms who connected for this celebration of ocean conservation. Held in partnership with the Ocean Festival, the launch also served as a platform to announce the official 2026 Ocean Festival dates, which will be held on 1 to 3 May.
Thanks were extended to event hosts, The Pipe restaurant, owned by local legends Catherine Le Pront – whose family is synonymous with surfing champions Louise, Luc and Leah Le Pront – and Rachelle Walker of Flava’s Bakery. This family-friendly spot provided the perfect coastal setting for an evening of storytelling and inspiration. Super Stoked! is available countrywide at Exclusive Books and Wordsworth's Stores.
