BFGoodrich takes on the Red Bull Box Cart Race 2026

BFGoodrich is gearing up for an action-packed day of creativity, speed and adventure as the brand joins the Red Bull Box Cart Race, taking place on 4 October 2026 on Sandton Drive in Johannesburg.

As a partner of this year’s event, BFGoodrich will not only be part of the race-day action but will also put its own creativity and competitive spirit to the test, entering a five-member team and custom-built box cart into the competition.

Known for bringing together imaginative design, competitive spirit and plenty of fun, the Red Bull Box Cart Race challenges teams to design and build homemade, non-motorised carts before taking on a gravity-powered downhill course. Teams are judged on a combination of speed, creativity and showmanship.

For its entry, BFGoodrich is bringing a proudly South African favourite to the starting line with a Braai Stand Box Cart. Inspired by South Africa’s love of the braai and the adventures that often bring people together around one, the build puts a playful BFGoodrich spin on a quintessentially South African road-trip combination - bakkies, braais and, of course, BFGoodrich tyres. The concept brings together local culture, creativity and the adventurous spirit at the heart of the brand.

Behind the build is a five-man BFGoodrich team comprising a captain, co-driver and three additional team members, who will work together to take the Braai Stand Box Cart from concept and construction to its ultimate test on Sandton Drive.

Adding another distinctly BFGoodrich challenge to the course will be the BFGoodrich Legends Berm. The obstacle will put participating teams and their homemade machines to the test as they navigate their way towards the finish line, creating a signature BFGoodrich moment within the race itself.

BFGoodrich is inviting fans to follow the journey in the build-up to 4 October and join the team on race day as creativity, adventure and competitive spirit take over Sandton Drive.
