Watershed will never let Andy Fletcher Down with international tribute single

South African rock band Watershed has joined 29 other international bands on a tribute album to the founding member of Depeche Mode, Andy Fletcher.
Earlier this year, on May 29th, founding member of the electronic band Depeche Mode, Andy Fletcher, sadly passed away. In loving memory of him, Daniel Gierke, ‘The Brute’, has worked to put together a tribute album, organising 30 international bands around the world to each record their own version of a Depeche Mode song. He named this compilation 6122, the year Fletcher was born combined with the year he passed.
One of the 30 bands selected was South African band, Watershed. They chose to cover one of Depeche Mode’s biggest singles, ‘Never let me down again’. Watershed frontman, Craig Hinds, says “It was important to us to respect and honour the original song, and the aspects that made it famous, whilst also giving it our own feel. We basically shortened the long bits and enhanced the good bits, replacing synths with guitars at times and giving the synth sounds more power. It was an amazing album to be a part of.”. And not only did they do the song justice, their cover was picked to be a single on the tribute album, along with four others, for radio broadcast.
In addition, Watershed recently released an official music video for their track, shot by the incredibly talented team at Network Productions, and directed by Duncan Robson. A beautiful video that perfectly ties together their ‘Never let me down again’ cover in a final farewell to a beloved musical legend. Andy Fletcher’s memory will live forever in this incredible album, bringing friends and fans from across the world together in one final farewell. 6122 is currently on various charts in Germany and is available on all download and streaming platforms. Watershed’s single can also be found on numerous charts and is similarly available for streaming and download.
