Canal Walk Shopping Centre, one of Cape Town’s leading retail destinations, is bringing together local entrepreneurs and the community for a week of fashion, food, and festive experiences ahead of Eid.
The shopping centre is currently hosting its third annual Eid Expo, running until 16 March 2026, offering visitors a free, open-access event located in Centre Court and throughout the mall.
With approximately 40 exhibitors showcasing locally produced goods, the expo brings together fashion, gifts, beauty products, and food under one roof. The curated selection is designed to help shoppers prepare for Ramadan and the upcoming Eid celebrations, creating a vibrant marketplace that highlights local talent and small businesses.
As Cape Town’s Muslim community observes the holy month of Ramadan – a period marked by fasting from sunrise to sunset, prayer, and reflection – the weeks leading up to Eid are often filled with preparation and celebration planning.
From refreshing the home to selecting festive outfits and organising family gatherings, the Eid Expo provides a convenient destination where visitors can find a variety of products and inspiration in one place.
Exhibitors are presenting a diverse range of items including modest fashion, men’s clothing, prayer attire, jewellery, handbags, cosmetics, books, art, and flowers, offering shoppers a broad selection of products suited for the Eid festivities.
Beyond shopping, the expo also offers interactive experiences and live demonstrations, making it an engaging outing for visitors of all ages.
Guests can enjoy activities such as live henna art, scarf-styling sessions, make-up demonstrations, candle décor workshops, and Eid table decoration tips, creating an atmosphere that celebrates both creativity and cultural tradition.
The Eid Expo also complements Canal Walk’s existing offerings for those observing Ramadan. The centre features a wide selection of Halaal eateries, providing convenient options for breaking fast after sunset.
In addition, visitors can make use of ample seating areas throughout the mall for rest stops during the day, as well as a dedicated Prayer Room located near Entrance 12, offering a quiet and convenient space for evening prayers.
By hosting the Eid Expo, Canal Walk continues to support local entrepreneurs, cultural celebration, and community connection, while providing shoppers with a convenient and festive destination during this meaningful time of year.
Entry to the Eid Expo is free. For more information about the latest Canal Walk news and events, visit the centre’s official website.
