Blok Calls On Capetonians To Join Annual Sea Point Beach Clean-Up
Written by: The Platinum Club Save to Instapaper
Blok, in collaboration with Pristine Earth Collective and Statistics South Africa, along with their Neighbourhood Heroes, is inviting residents and visitors to help restore Sea Point’s coastline during its fourth annual Blok Spring Clean.
The community clean-up will take place at Broken Bath Beach, to the right of the Sea Point Pavilion, from 9am to 11am on Saturday 5 September 2026.
Community clean-up
The initiative brings together local residents, businesses and organisations for a hands-on morning dedicated to removing litter before it enters the ocean and raising awareness of the collective role communities can play in protecting Cape Town’s coastline.
Everyone is welcome to participate, and attendees are encouraged to arrive ready to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible difference. Bags and gloves will be provided at the meeting point.
As a thank-you, participants will receive a voucher for their choice of a complimentary ice-cream sandwich from Crumbs & Cream, a pastry from Paris Cape Town, or a coffee from Norfolk Deli or Stellski Café. The Good Basics team will also be there to share a small token of appreciation with volunteers.
Pristine Pathways Sea Point
Pristine Earth Collective has partnered with Blok on the annual clean-up and is one of the environmental initiatives Blok has supported throughout the year, since 2022. Through its Pristine Pathways Sea Point project, which undertakes weekly net-clearing and shoreline clean-ups, the organisation has prevented a staggering 5 772 bags of waste from entering the ocean since the project began.
Blok encourages Capetonians of all ages to come down, and help create a cleaner coastline, one bag of waste at a time.
