SOUTH AFRICA (June 4) Driven by an unwavering commitment to education, empowerment, and digital inclusion, Acer Africa is proud to reinforce its decade-long partnership with SOS Children’s Village Lesotho through a significant donation of essential computing devices. This enduring collaboration has already transformed the lives and opportunities of countless young people in the region.
This impactful initiative underscores Acer’s broader mission to bridge the digital divide across Africa, bringing crucial technological access to underserved communities. From 19 to 22 May, Acer was on the ground at the SOS Village in Lesotho, documenting the profound real-world impact of this sustained partnership. They captured inspiring stories of hope, progress, and the remarkable potential unlocked through consistent support and investment.
The visit culminated in a compelling feature article and video case study, titled “Bridging the Digital Divide: How Acer and SOS Children’s Villages are Empowering Lesotho.” The content highlights how access to digital tools, coupled with long-term commitment, is nurturing a generation of confident and capable young individuals, providing not just connectivity, but the skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Lesego Bobbi Nyamane, Marketing Manager at Acer Africa, stated, “Our commitment goes beyond devices; it’s about enabling progress and supporting the environments that help young people grow, learn, and thrive. We recognise the vital role that SOS Children’s Village plays in providing care, stability, and a sense of belonging to children across Lesotho.”
This latest donation of computing devices will provide crucial support for both learners and dedicated educators at the SOS Village. It will furnish the essential infrastructure needed to access vital learning resources, cultivate critical digital skills, and unlock boundless potential within a nurturing and secure environment.
Acer Africa’s steadfast partnership with SOS Children’s Villages exemplifies its core CSR ethos – a commitment to fostering long-term, meaningful impact over fleeting gestures, and investing in tangible, measurable outcomes for communities across the African continent.
