Acer Africa and ACGL Extend Collaboration to Energize Premier Competitive Gaming at the 2026 African Gaming Championship

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - July 2026 -

Acer Africa today announced the continuation of its strategic partnership with the African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) to anchor the highly anticipated African Gaming Championship (AGC) 2026.

Returning as a core tournament ally, Acer will once again step in as the primary hardware partner for the landmark event, taking place at GrandWest in Cape Town from July 16 to 19, 2026, to power the continent's elite esports talent.

Building on the shared success of their ongoing collaboration, Acer Africa will provide top-tier monitors, and computing hardware across the entire tournament floor.

Acer’s cutting-edge technology will drive the critical infrastructure behind the scenes, including the event’s administrative desks, live mobile streaming setups, and dedicated competitive arenas.

African Gaming Championship 2026

The AGC 2026 features a massive R150,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Africa’s top competitors will go head-to-head across a diverse lineup of major titles, including VALORANT, Fortnite, EA FC 26, Call of Duty Mobile, Tekken 8, and Brawlhalla.

Supporting Grassroots Esports

In tandem with the main event, Acer Africa is reinforcing its dedicated grassroots initiatives.

Acer will continue its headline support for the Nitro ASL (African Schools League), offering a direct pathway for schools and young academic gamers to transition into the professional tier of competitive gaming.

Leadership Perspectives

"Our continued partnership with ACGL for the African Gaming Championship 2026 reinforces our long-term commitment to esports on the continent," said Glenn du Toit, Country Manager of Acer South Africa.

"We aren't just supplying monitors and PCs; we are continuously investing in the infrastructure of African gaming. Combined with our expanding local hardware assembly operations in South Africa, this ongoing collaboration allows us to deliver high-performance, tailored solutions directly to the players, fans, and organizers who drive this community forward."

"AGC has always been about more than hosting tournaments," said Nick Holden, CEO of ACGL.

"Our vision is to build an ecosystem where players can discover opportunities at every stage - from school esports to international competition - while creating a shared platform for organisers to host events and accelerate esports growth across Africa. The calibre of partners involved reflects the growing role of gaming in education, innovation and youth development."
