Esquire wins 2012 African Distributor Award
Submitted by: Esquire TechnologiesEsquire Technologies has won the African Distributor of the Year Award at the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ ceremony that was attended by over 1000 senior executives from vendors, distributors, retailers and e-tailers operating in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The awards took place during a Gala Dinner at the Salle des Etoiles in Monaco on Thursday 9th February 2012.
The EMEA Channel Academy Awards were established by DISTREE EMEA, an event which has become the largest annual gathering of senior executives from 130 vendors, volume distributors, retailers and e-tailers working in Europe, Middle East & Africa’s (EMEA’s) information communications technologies (ICT) and consumer electronics (CE) channel from over 70 plus countries within the region.
“These awards have become a benchmark for channel excellence in the region, for both distributors and vendors,” said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events.
“We were delighted to host the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards’ as part of the DISTREE EMEA conference programme. These awards offer unique insight into how vendors and distributors are perceived in the regional channel through an open and neutral nomination process followed by a live electronic vote,” he added.
“The methodology behind the awards is highly effective. Hundreds of distributors across EMEA nominate their preferred vendors by category, while vendor executives with EMEA responsibility, nominate their preferred distributors by sub-region before voting for an overall winner during a live electronic vote,” Hemraj added.
Asgar Mahomed, managing director of Esquire Technologies -who accepted the award in Monaco – said that it was a great honour to win the prestigious international award.
"We’re pleased to bring the award home to South Africa and tell our reseller channel that we are working hard to deploy state-of-the-art support and best practice systems that will enable better customer care for their benefit and satisfaction,” said Mahomed.
“Winning an award such as the African Distributor of the Year and competing head on with other players in the distribution business has its positive effects in showing that Esquire is doing something right when it comes to adopting best practices in logistics, reseller engagement, sales growth and responding to new market development trends in the channel – especially on innovative ideas such as the world’s first Virtual Reseller Network (VRN), which has been a phenomenal success since its launch in November last year.”
“We also realise the responsibility that comes with winning such an award as we now have to work that much harder to achieve the results for our all stakeholders on this bold project going forward,” said Asgar Mahomed.
Asgar Mahomed concluded:“ This award will have a positive impact on our team in the organisation, which is now recognised for their efforts in serving reseller channel customers.”
