Esquire lands distribution rights to US-based Boss Audio Systems
Submitted by: Esquire TechnologiesEsquire Technologies, the lifestyle-focused computer distributor, has signed a distribution agreement with USA-based Boss Audio Systems, a leading manufacturer of mobile electronics equipment, including for the vehicle and marine markets.
Asgar Mahomed, MD of Esquire Technologies, said the deal with Boss Audio Systems forms part of the company's aim to become the leading lifestyle-focused computer distributor in South Africa.
"We will be starting off with the sale of their vehicle audio systems – which are among the most popular in the world. This range will be available within the next two weeks.
"By the second quarter of the year, we will be introducing the marine range of products from Boss, which is an untapped market in South Africa."
The marine product range includes amplifiers, in-dash solutions, subwoofers, UTV products, wakertower speakers, speakers and accessories.
When it comes to products for the vehicle market, Boss Audio supplies mobile video, amplifiers, signal processors, tweeters, speakers, subwoofers and accessories.
Navid Farhand, director of international sales for Boss Audio Systems – based in the United States – said he was enthusiastic about the deal struck with Esquire.
"Esquire has a big reach in southern Africa via its more than 12 500 resellers, who are given 24 x 7 access to their stock via their VRN – as well as other e-commerce sites.
"We believe that the southern African region could produce some exceptional sales for us, and we believe that the marine product range, once it comes on board, will also bring with it a lot of advantages – on top of its great novelty factor. We believe our marine products will prove to be a real hit in your country."
Commenting further, Mahomed said: "We will be offering the entire range to our more than 12 500 resellers," said Mahomed, "who will be able to access all stock via our Virtual Reseller Network (VRN)."
He said besides being available on its home-grown VRN – which has thus far cost R10 million to develop – the products will also be available on all e-commerce stores where Esquire has a presence.
