The inaugural Facilities Management Expo Cape Town, co-located with Securex, A-OSH EXPO, and Firexpo, made a confident entrance into the Western Cape events landscape. Held from 21 to 23 October 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), the event attracted over 2000 visitors, signalling an encouraging foundation for the region’s growing appetite for integrated safety, security, and operational efficiency solutions.
“The enthusiasm we’ve seen from both visitors and exhibitors has been exceptional,” says Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Montgomery Group Africa. “Facilities management is no longer an isolated discipline. It’s a strategic function that connects everything, from workplace safety and energy efficiency to fire protection and access control. The Cape Town edition of the show reflected that reality perfectly.”
Exhibitors presented an array of technologies, products, and services aimed at improving how buildings and estates operate. The co-location of the four shows created a vibrant business environment, where decision-makers from different industries could interact, compare suppliers, and find complementary solutions under one roof.
“The real success of this event lies in its diversity,” says Anderson. “We welcomed facilities managers, property developers, operations heads, and public-sector decision-makers, alongside OHS specialists and security leaders. This mix of expertise opened valuable conversations about cross-functional management and long-term resilience.”
Real results and meaningful engagement
The show floor buzzed with activity across all three days. Live demonstrations and hands-on product displays helped visitors assess real-world functionality, while exhibitors reported strong, high-quality engagement and new business leads. Exhibitors remarked on how the expo helped them gain a stronger foothold in the Western Cape.
“We were first-time exhibitors at the four co-located shows, and I was very impressed with the high level of quality and variety of exhibitors. This event allowed us to interact with a wider cross-section of the market as our products serve various needs, including security, health and safety, and facilities management. The expo gave us a great opportunity to network and create greater awareness of our product range,” says Piet Nel, Managing Director at Ergonomics Direct.
Visitor feedback has highlighted the event’s accessibility, convenience, and strong regional relevance. Many attendees noted that having all four shows in one hall provided an efficient way to benchmark solutions, learn about trends, and make informed decisions without leaving the province.
“The shows were very informative, and we learned a lot. We feel this is a very necessary event for the Cape Town market,” say Bontle Mlangeni and Masego Ntuli from Tevo.
“As the Western Cape continues to lead South Africa in smart infrastructure and sustainable development, Facilities Management Expo Cape Town has firmly established itself as the go-to regional event for innovation and collaboration in this space. We look forward to our March 2027 event, which will be co-located with Securex, A-OSH EXPO, Firexpo, and the debut of the Cape Town Industrial Technology Exhibition (CITE),” says Anderson.
