In line with Beiersdorf’s “Care Beyond Skin” corporate purpose, a 50 million Euro global aid program to support the fight against COVID-19 has been funded by Beiersdorf AG, the parent company to Beiersdorf Southern Africa, one of more than 170 international affiliates of the personal care company.
Beiersdorf also recognised the self-sacrificing commitment of those who have served their communities in 280 hospitals across KwaZulu Natal (KZN) during the COVID-19 epidemic. Through “Care Beyond Skin”, Beiersdorf donated over 200,000 NIVEA Creme 400ml tins, 6,000 hand sanitisers and 50,000 medical face masks to 280 hospitals and clinics nationally.
“We are grateful for those medical and support staff who have worked long hours, diligently providing healthcare to their communities in extraordinary times, often putting themselves at personal risk,” says Hamish Douglas, Managing Director, Beiersdorf Southern Africa.
