@Sandton Spa Takes a Cooler Approach to Body Contouring
@Sandton Spa at the @Sandton Hotel now offers Cryolipolysis (Fat Freeze), a non-surgical body contouring treatment that targets fat deposits no amount of gym time seems to shift.
The procedure requires no anaesthesia, no incisions and no downtime, making it one of the few body treatments guests can fit into a lunch break.
Because the fat cells are permanently destroyed and removed, results build gradually and last.
There is a particular kind of frustration that comes from doing everything right.
The early mornings, the clean eating, the discipline, and still finding that certain parts of the body simply will not budge.
It turns out there is a biological reason for that, and now there is an answer for it too.
@Sandton Spa at the @Sandton Hotel has added Cryolipolysis, better known as ‘Fat Freeze’, to its treatment menu.
How Cryolipolysis Works
The procedure uses controlled cold temperatures to target and destroy fat cells in specific areas of the body.
The abdomen, love handles, inner thighs, upper arms and beneath the chin are among the most commonly treated.
What makes it worth paying attention to is the science: fat cells are more sensitive to cold than surrounding tissue, which means they can be damaged and eliminated by the body without affecting the skin above them.
Once those cells are gone, they are gone permanently.
Sessions run between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the area being treated.
There is no anaesthesia, no recovery period and no reason to rearrange a diary.
Most clients leave and carry on with their day.
Results begin to show at around three weeks, with the clearest changes visible at two months and peak results at approximately four months.
Clinical data puts average fat reduction at between 15 and 28 per cent.
Expert Insight
“People come to us at different points in their wellness journey,” says Matshepo Sambo, Spa Manager at @Sandton Spa.
“Some guests want relaxation; others want something more targeted. Cryolipolysis sits in an interesting space because it is medical in its results but accessible in the way it is delivered. You are not in a clinical environment, you are not going under a knife, and you walk out the door looking the same but knowing something has changed.”
Bookings and Pricing
A pre-treatment consultation is required, during which a therapist will advise on the recommended course of treatment.
The procedure is not suitable for everyone, and more than one area can be treated per visit.
Cryolipolysis at @Sandton Spa is priced from R1100 per treatment area.
