Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West, renowned for its beautiful gardens and majestic mountain backdrops, offers a portfolio of outstanding wedding, corporate, conference, and special occasion venues. Event organisers, companies and private individuals can choose from several enchanting locations.
Riverside conservatory: An elegant glass conservatory, seating up to 400 guests, has been installed near the Lourens River, ensuring an exquisite venue whatever the weather. The conservatory overlooks a manicured riverside lawn, ideal for pre-event drinks.
Lake and mountain venue: The spectacular backdrop of the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland mountains is reflected in the lake’s tranquil waters. A perfect location to exchange vows or serve pre-event drinks and canapes.
Camphor forest: Imagine saying “I do” beneath a canopy of ancient camphor trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves. The camphor forest can accommodate up to 300 wedding reception guests. This site is also suitable for elegant picnics, for up to 120 guests, weather permitting.
Octagonal Garden: Vergelegen’s spectacular Octagonal Garden, dating back to the 18th century, is renowned for its ancient trees and abundant herbaceous borders leading to the historic manor house. The pergola and octagonal layout create a timeless setting. Optimal for weddings and pre-event drinks.
Rose Terrace Tea Room: A charming venue overlooking the rose garden, serving breakfasts, lunches, and indulgent high teas. The cottage, seating up to 24 guests, is available for private morning or afternoon bookings. It is a popular choice for kitchen teas and birthday celebrations.
Stables Restaurant: This restaurant is renowned for its spectacular garden setting and mountain backdrop. Seating up to 110 guests, it is an excellent choice for wedding receptions and family gatherings. The varied menu suits most culinary requirements. A private room accommodates up to 40 lunch guests.
