Uniting Beats & Hearts - Bridges for Music & AlphaTheta Light Up Cape Town
Written by: Patrick Domburg Save to InstapaperCape Town, South Africa – Bridges for Music, a renowned non-profit organisation empowering under-resourced communities through music and education, partnered with AlphaTheta (Pioneer DJ) for an unforgettable alumni showcase in Cape Town. The event brought together emerging DJs like Rudy Julius, Schwelly M, Lee Mahabi, and headliner FKA Mash, blending deep house, Afro-fusion, and more to celebrate the power of music and support the organisation’s educational initiatives.
A Celebration of Talent and Impact
Hosted at Villa Viva, the showcase highlighted Cape Town’s diverse music scene while raising funds for Bridges for Music’s creative school in Langa township. Attendees experienced a VR DJ session, immersed in beats from talented local artists, reinforcing the message that music can empower and uplift communities.
Bridges for Music’s Founder, Valentino Barrioseta, expressed his gratitude: “This event shows how music unites people, breaks barriers, and creates real social change.” Similarly, AlphaTheta’s Keleigh Batchelor emphasized the partnership’s goal to amplify music’s role in empowerment.
Supporting Education Through Music
The event’s proceeds will go towards Bridges for Music’s ongoing efforts to provide music education, industry access, and life skills to young people from marginalised communities, creating opportunities in the global music industry.
