Intimacy Education Is Moving Beyond Retreats and Into Everyday Relationships
Written by: Consensuality Save to Instapaper
WILDERNESS, South Africa, 12 August 2026, Women on the Garden Route have only a few days left to book for Consensuality’s Women’s Better Sex Workshop, taking place at Naughty by Nature in Wilderness this Saturday, 15 August 2026.
Formally titled Everything Your Momma Never Taught You About…, the three-hour workshop will create a private, small-group space for practical intimacy education, open conversation and questions that many women have had little opportunity to explore elsewhere.
The workshop runs from 11:00 to 14:00 and costs R850 per person, including welcome drinks and a light snack. It is 100% educational, includes no nudity and forms part of Consensuality’s wider model of workshops, online couples education, personalised coaching and facilitated retreats.
A South African Workshop With a Practical Focus
This Saturday’s Women’s Better Sex Workshop will explore ancient tantric erotic touch, communication around intimate needs and practical ways women can better understand and express what they want within a relationship.
Women are encouraged to attend with a sister, close friend or trusted companion.
The intention is to create an environment where questions about intimacy, pleasure and communication can be discussed without shame, pressure or the formality of a clinical setting.
“This isn’t just about better sex. It’s about reclaiming your relationship with your body, your partner, your voice, your turn-on, and your life,” said Carol Momberg, founder of Consensuality.
The limited group size is intended to maintain privacy and allow for open discussion throughout the three-hour session.
Why Adult Intimacy Education Matters
Many adults receive formal education about health, careers, finances and parenting but far less practical guidance about communication, desire, boundaries and intimacy within long-term relationships.
That gap can become more noticeable as relationships move through stress, parenting, work pressures, routine and changing levels of desire.
Consensuality’s approach treats intimacy as something that can be explored through communication, reflection and shared practices rather than something couples are simply expected to understand automatically.
Its workshops and coaching services are educational and developmental rather than clinical and are not intended to replace medical, psychological or therapeutic advice where these are required.
Online Couples Education Extends Access Beyond the Garden Route
While the brand’s physical experiences are centred in Wilderness, its online services make the same education-led approach available to couples elsewhere in South Africa and internationally.
The main digital programme is The Erotic Reboot, a structured 12-week online couples course focused on communication, emotional safety, desire, pleasure and deeper connection.
Couples complete the programme privately from home through video teachings, guided practices, downloadable materials and reflection exercises.
The course covers areas including emotional safety, relationship communication, desire in long-term relationships, erotic confidence, pleasure languages, intentional touch and integrating intimacy into everyday relationship life.
It may be relevant to long-term couples experiencing disconnection, partners navigating different levels of desire or couples who simply want a more intentional way to talk about intimacy and connection.
Personalised couples coaching is also available for those who want more direct guidance around their own circumstances.
Coaching can be used independently or alongside the online course and may support couples dealing with communication difficulties, differences in desire or periods of emotional distance.
Hospitality Is Becoming Part of the Learning Experience
Consensuality’s physical base, Naughty by Nature, is an adults-only private cabin and couples retreat setting in Wilderness on South Africa’s Garden Route.
Rather than functioning only as accommodation, the property is also used for educational workshops and facilitated couples experiences.
This reflects a broader movement within experience-led hospitality, where some properties are moving beyond the traditional accommodation-only model and introducing structured activities, learning, wellness or facilitated personal experiences.
In Consensuality’s case, the venue forms part of the educational environment. Privacy, setting and the small-scale format support the workshop and retreat model rather than simply providing a place to stay.
The Women’s Better Sex Workshop is therefore both a local event and an example of how hospitality, wellness and adult education can intersect within one service model.
Several Ways to Begin
Consensuality has structured its services so that people do not need to begin with the same level of commitment.
A woman may start with a single workshop. A couple may begin privately with the online course. Others may choose coaching, a private stay or a one-couple-at-a-time facilitated retreat.
The wider brand also includes The Inner Circle private newsletter, curated intimacy products, bespoke furniture and purpose-designed intimacy spaces.
Across these services, the focus remains on privacy, consent, practical communication, desire and intentional connection.
Bookings for Everything Your Momma Never Taught You About… remain open ahead of this Saturday’s workshop and can be made by contacting Consensuality on 078 804 7505 or through the Consensuality contact page.
