Acclaimed chef, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker Jill Van As invites guests to join her for an evening of soulful cooking, conversation, and connection at her upcoming Kitchen Table Talk Cooking Experience, taking place at Makers Landing, V&A Waterfront, on Saturday, 15 November 2025, from 18h00 to 22h00.
This unique event welcomes everyone, regardless of age or gender, whether attending as a date night or a friendship evening. It offers a fresh take on how we experience cooking together. Jill explains in a voice note shared with her community that she hopes to “change the narrative of cooking being a chore, and instead see it as a time to connect, create, and take time out of the day to make something beautiful with someone you care about.”
At its core, Kitchen Table Talk is about creating a sacred space for creativity, connection, and healing. It is an invitation to slow down, share stories, and rediscover the simple joy of food as both nourishment and emotional restoration.
Jill’s Kitchen Table Talk sessions have long been celebrated for their heartfelt honesty and warmth, blending cooking demonstrations, storytelling, and open conversation in an intimate and inspiring atmosphere.“For me, the kitchen table has always been a sacred space, a place where truth, tears, and laughter coexist,” says Jill Van As. “Through Kitchen Table Talk, I want people to rediscover their voices, their value, and their joy, one meal, one story at a time.”
As the author of The Epicurean Journal, a cookbook-meets-memoir that beautifully connects recipes with personal reflection, Jill has inspired countless readers to find courage and healing in the kitchen.“My book is a guide to how food gave me courage and a space to heal,” she shares. “May you create your own memories in your kitchen.”
The November event will feature live cooking, tastings, and intimate storytelling, offering a rich sensory and emotional experience that brings people together through the universal language of food.
Beyond her writing and workshops, Jill co-owns Vibe Events and Catering with her husband, a thriving business that celebrates authenticity, creativity, and community. She is currently working on her second book, set for release in 2026, continuing her exploration of how food intertwines with healing, love, and self-discovery.
