Calling All Vendors -  Join the Baruch Community Carnival 2025!

The Baruch Entertainers, one of Cape Town’s most respected Minstrel troupes, are inviting local vendors, small businesses, and food entrepreneurs to take part in the Baruch Community Carnival, taking place from 4 to 6 December 2025 at the Elsies River Rugby Club Grounds.

Known for their passion for preserving and evolving Cape Town’s vibrant Minstrel traditions, Baruch Entertainers, under the leadership of chairman, Claude Jonas, have become a household name in the cultural community. Their performances are celebrated for blending traditional minstrel music with modern creativity, earning them recognition as innovators in the Cape Town carnival scene.

Now, the troupe is extending that creative spirit to the wider community through the Baruch Community Carnival, a family-friendly, three-day festival designed to bring people together, uplift local entrepreneurs, and celebrate the culture and resilience of Elsies River and surrounding areas.

A Celebration of Community and Culture

The Carnival promises a lively mix of entertainment and attractions for all ages, including:

  • Live performances from local artists including Waseef Piekaan, Allan The Car Guard, The OGs dance group and various local community artists.
  • Funfair inflatables and family activities
  • Saturday Car Show showcasing local car clubs and enthusiasts
  • Food stallscraft vendors, and community exhibitors
  • Safe, paid parking available inside the venue

Event times:

  • Thursday, 4 December: 16h00 – 23h00
  • Friday, 5 December: 16h00 – 23h00
  • Saturday, 6 December: 09h00 – 23h00

Opportunities for Vendors

Local businesses are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity to showcase their products and services at one of the most anticipated community events of the summer.

Vendor packages:

  • General Stalls: R3,500 for the full weekend
  • Food Trucks: R4,500 for the full weekend
  • Over 100 stalls available – spaces are limited

The event welcomes a wide range of vendors, including food and drink sellers, craft makers, clothing designers, small business owners, and community organizations.

Giving Back with Purpose

Proceeds from the Carnival will go toward helping children in need, specifically providing school uniforms and essentials for families who cannot afford them.

“This Carnival is about community, it’s about creating opportunities for small businesses while celebrating our culture and giving back,” said Wendy Rhode, Executive Director for the Baruch Community Carnival. “We want vendors from all over Cape Town to come showcase their talent and be part of something meaningful.”
