Combining leadership acumen, community spirit, and a touch of friendly sporting competition, the 2025 Mrs South Africa semi-finalists successfully hosted an action-packed day on the greens at Gauteng’s Glendower Golf Club in Edenvale on Friday, 30 May. Home to eight South African Open Championships, the historic venue welcomed 120 golfers, bringing together contestants, sponsors, friends, and family for a day filled with fun activities, prizes, and final preparations ahead of the upcoming Semi-Final Showcase.

"The Mrs South Africa annual golf day is one of the highlights of our calendar, giving our contestants an important opportunity to invite their friends and family to share in some of the excitement and experience a taste of what our programme is really about,” says Joani Jacobs, CEO of Mrs South Africa.

“This year, we once again saw the true spirit of Mrs South Africa come alive, as each of our contestants was able to share in the camaraderie and laughs, build meaningful connections with sponsors and participants, and demonstrate their leadership skills.”

Supported by the Mrs South Africa team, each semi-finalist took an active role in the success of the day, having worked to sell four-ball tickets – an approach guided by the organisation's commitment to developing business acumen and leadership capabilities among its participants. Throughout the course, eight premium watering holes were further hosted by leading brands, offering a diverse range of experiences from a wellness activation and a marshmallow driving challenge to a hangover cure tasting and podcast opportunity.

A key highlight of the day included specialised empowerment workshops for the semi-finalists, providing intensive training in interview techniques, styling, and presentation skills. These workshops, led by the Mrs South Africa management team, reigning titleholders, and official mentors, will serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming Semi-Final Showcase in July, where the Top 30 finalists for 2025 will be announced.

Concluding the day's activities, the event's prize-giving dinner was made even more special by the presence of two South African sporting legends. Boxing icon Brian Mitchell, a world champion and hall of famer, along with former Lions rugby star Pietie Meyer, brought extra excitement to the evening’s proceedings by auctioning exclusive autographed sports memorabilia.

The star-studded evening was co-hosted by reigning Mrs South Africa Erin-Jane Miller, alongside former title holder Jo Judnick-Wilson, who kept spirits and energy high throughout the event. The day’s winners received highly coveted prizes including deluxe holiday packages, beauty and aesthetic treatments, as well as a variety of in-demand products and goodies from sponsors.

"The impact of this golf day exceeded our expectations. Not only did it provide an outstanding platform for networking, and creating special memories with family and friends, but it also gave our contestants valuable experiences and skills that will serve them well in the future. Mrs South Africa is often described as an MBA of life, and this event is just one of the building blocks we use to create a truly fulfilling experience for everyone who participates, while setting a positive and uplifting tone for the remainder of the 2025 competition season.

“With that in mind, I’d like to wish every contestant the best of luck for the upcoming showcase event. There are so many phenomenal women competing this year, and the judges will have an exceptionally difficult task in choosing just 30 finalists to proceed to the next round,” says Jacobs.

Tickets for the 2025 Mrs South Africa Semi-Final Showcase, taking place on Friday, 04 July at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, are available online through Ticketpro, with prices starting at R850.
