Industry stakeholders from across the globe congregated at The Annual South Africa BPESA GBS & BPO Conference, which was hosted in Cape Town, Western Cape from 7 to 9 November. This flagship event culminated in the prestigious BPESA GBS Alchemy Awards Banquet running under the Theme of “RISE’ on Thursday, 9 November.

"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to both the nominees and the winners of this year's industry awards, all of whom are playing a pivotal role in propelling the global business services [GBS] sector to new heights in South Africa," affirmed Reshni Singh, CEO of BPESA. "Tonight's celebration served as a splendid occasion to honour the remarkable accomplishments of professionals and organisations alike. We join together in recognising their exceptional performance, fostering a collective vision, and championing the enduring spirit of achievement and excellence."

Award categories were announced on 13 July with double the number of submissions compared to the previous year. Many global and regional companies have set up or expanded their operations successfully in South Africa, with GBS considered to be the country’s fastest-growing sector. Some of the industry verticals adopting GBS include technology and communications, financial services, legal and healthcare – with a particular focus on inclusive and youth hires, further promoting South Africa’s broad-based adoption of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). The conference and awards ceremony will extend this positive trajectory and position the country as a prime business process outsourcing (BPO) destination.

Special thanks are extended to National Partners: dtic, InvestSA, Harambee; Host City: City of Cape Town. Regional Partners: KZN Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (KZN EDTEA), Trade and Investment KZN (TIKZN), Invest Durban and eThekwini Municipality, Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) and Conference Partners: Nutun, Concentrix + Webhelp, Merchants CX SA, RewardsCo, Outworx, Standard Bank, The Instant Group
