From Learnership to Leadership - Mineware Consulting Celebrates Investment in Youth Talent

Johannesburg, South Africa – Mineware Consulting, a leading South African software company specialising in bespoke mine management solutions, is proud to mark a significant milestone in its commitment to transformation and skills development. Through its ongoing partnership with Signa Academy, the company has successfully transitioned the majority of its 2024 learnership cohort into permanent employment—affirming its long-term investment in South Africa’s youth.
Of the five learners who joined Mineware in 2024, four have now been retained within the organisation. Veronica Kau, Tshepang Sienna, and Siphesihle Nduzi were officially appointed as permanent staff members, while Siphesile Nduzi signed his contract in April 2025. All four, along with Thabang Mogojane, successfully graduated from the learnership programme, demonstrating their capability, commitment, and growth throughout the 12-month period.
The programme, delivered in collaboration with Signa Academy, blends theoretical training with real-world experience. Learners attend formal classes at Signa Academy each Tuesday and spend the remainder of the week gaining practical experience at Mineware’s offices across various departments.
Signa Academy is a SETA- and QCTO-accredited institution with over twelve years of expertise in providing high-impact, work-integrated learning across South Africa’s corporate landscape.
“This year, we’ve taken a more focused approach,” explains Venessa Paulsen, Human Resources Lead at Mineware. “Instead of bringing in a new intake of 10 first-time learners, we’ve extended the opportunity for seven high-performing graduates of the previous programme—including Linda Jerry Nhlapo—to remain with us for a second year. This extension allows them to refine their skills and build deeper industry knowledge with a view toward permanent employment by April 2026.”
This initiative is not a compliance exercise, but part of Mineware’s long-term strategy to develop high-potential talent, support inclusive participation in the technology sector, and build a pipeline of future leaders in the South African mining economy.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to witness these young professionals grow—not just in their roles, but as individuals,” says Venessa. “They are stepping into their potential, and we’re proud to walk alongside them on this journey.”
The learnership initiative reflects Mineware Consulting’s broader commitment to social impact, skills development, and transformation. As the company continues to power the mining industry with advanced software, it remains equally focused on the human capital that will define the sector’s future.
