Routed recognised in Financial Times and Statista growth rankings as evoila Africa transition gains momentum
18 May 2026
Financial Times and Statista have recognised Routed among Africa and South Africa’s fastest-growing companies, reinforcing its strong growth trajectory as its transition to evoila Africa progresses. The rankings reflect increasing demand for the company’s cloud, sovereign infrastructure and VMware-based services, alongside its continued expansion across Africa.
Johannesburg, South Africa – 18 May 2026
Integrated cloud platform provider Routed, soon to be evoila Africa, has strengthened its position as one of South Africa’s leading cloud infrastructure businesses after securing recognition in both the Financial Times’ Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies rankings and Statista’s South Africa Growth Champions report.
The company has been ranked 90th in the latest Financial Times Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies list — up from 109th last year and marking its fourth appearance in the rankings — further reinforcing Routed’s position as one of the continent’s fastest-growing technology businesses.
In addition, Routed has also been named a South African Growth Champion by Statista, which recognised the country’s fastest-growing companies based on revenue performance and growth achieved between 2021 and 2024.
Ranked 35th out of 50, the report looks at a range of different industries, ranking them based on the common denominator of their compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue.
Company Response
Speaking after the company’s improved 2026 rankings, Managing Director Andrew Cruise said he is proud of the outcome:
“It’s been 10 years since we launched Routed and we are ecstatic to be ranked among some of the continent’s premium brands. Founded to address a clear gap in the cloud market, Routed remains one of the leading VMware Cloud Service Providers. Our decision to remain true to our technical specialisation of designing, building and operating VMware-based private clouds with depth and discipline continues to pay off.“
Sustained Growth And Market Demand
The dual recognition reflects a period of sustained growth for Routed, driven by increasing demand for sovereign cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, private cloud solutions, and VMware-based modernisation services across South Africa and the broader African market.
According to Cruise, the rankings validate the company’s long-term strategy, and he says that Routed’s platform strategy has increasingly resonated with organisations looking for alternatives to hyperscale public cloud providers, particularly as concerns around cost predictability, sovereignty, compliance, and vendor lock-in continue to rise.
“As we transition into evoila Africa, we remain committed to the principles that built Routed – engineering excellence, partner enablement, local expertise, and trusted cloud delivery. These rankings reflect the hard work of our team, the loyalty of our partners, and the confidence our customers place in us every day.”
Expansion Across Africa
The company says it will continue investing in platform innovation, sovereign cloud capabilities, partner growth initiatives, and enterprise cloud services as it expands its footprint across Africa.
