SANPUD Seeks Strategic Leaders to Join Peer-led Board
Written by: Phumlani Malinga Save to Instapaper
SANPUD, the South African Network of People Who Use Drugs, invites dedicated professionals to join its board as it scales up peer-driven harm reduction and advocacy initiatives. New board members will bring fresh perspectives and help steer SANPUD toward impactful, sustainable growth.
Over the past five years SANPUD has grown from a grassroots collective into a national network that delivers harm reduction training, policy advocacy, and peer support in multiple provinces. Our board has played a pivotal role in shaping partnerships, securing funding, and amplifying the voices of people who use drugs in key policy conversations. Joining the board offers a chance to help set ambitious targets, safeguard organisational integrity, and nurture peer leadership across South Africa.
New board members will:
- Provide strategic leadership and guide organisational direction
- Ensure effective oversight of operations, policies, and governance
- Actively contribute to fundraising and resource mobilisation
- Advocate publicly for SANPUD’s mission and objectives
- Attend regular board meetings and engage in collective decision-making
Charity Monareng, a proud SANPUD board member, describes the role: “Every day I witness how rigorous oversight, professional expertise, and genuine care keep our peer-led networks thriving. As a board member, I shape strategy and governance, drive fundraising, advocate for our mission, and join meetings to guide key decisions. If you’re ready to lend your expertise and your heart, I hope to welcome you to our board.”
