Journey to Manhood - Qina Jita 6th Men’s Imbizo
Johannesburg, 6 October 2026 - Qina Jita will host its sixth Men’s Imbizo on 17 October 2026, bringing together boys, young men, and men from different walks of life for knowledge sharing, experience impartation, mentorship, and meaningful conversations.
This year’s theme, “Journey to Manhood,” explores the different experiences and circumstances that shape men throughout their lives. The theme recognises that wounded boys can become wounded men, and wounded people can wound other people, highlighting the importance of addressing life’s challenges, making positive choices and having the support needed to navigate difficult seasons.
Qina Jita serves as an anchor for boys and men navigating the complexities of life, promoting holistic wellness, health and healing while encouraging men to overcome adversity, build healthy relationships and realize their full potential.
In the face of the ongoing scourge of gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide, Qina Jita stands firmly against all forms of violence against women and girls. Good men must take a stand against GBV—not only by choosing not to perpetrate it, but by calling it out, challenging harmful behaviour and calling for justice.
Speaking on the importance of investing in boys from an early age, Aobakwe Moseta draws on the African proverb, ‘ligotshwa lisemanzi,” which speaks to the importance of teaching and guiding boys while they are still young so that they can grow into sensible and responsible adults.
“For better men tomorrow, we need to nurture good boys today. We cannot leave boy children behind.” - Aobakwe Moseta
The sixth Men’s Imbizo will create a space for intergenerational dialogue where boys and men can share experiences, learn from one another and gain the knowledge and support needed to navigate their journey towards healthy and purposeful manhood. The Imbizo will be headlined by the formidable Linda Ntuli, a distinguished speaker, author and voice of influence.
On the 17th October 2026, more than five hundred valiant men and boys will take a stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. “We do not have the capacity to protest each day; we make use of unfortunate circumstances to raise our voices or protest. However, when someone makes a commitment, such as a pledge, they commit to a moral standard that they must uphold in their daily lives. “The protest must happen every day, within each individual—and now, more than ever, it is time for men to rise and take a stand.”
“We will continue to take this stand until GBV is no longer normalised or treated casually but recognised for what it truly is—a serious crime against women and an injustice that demands men’s collective action.” – Aobakwe Moseta
The Imbizo is free for all men to attend. Members of the media are also invited to attend.
