Submitted by: ParushaFollowing the announcement of its interpack 2017 ‘Best Future Machine Award’, Rockwell Automation has now released details of the jury and the prize for the lucky winners. Rockwell Automation has revealed the jury and prize for its new global ‘Best Future Machine Award’. Machines and solutions that enter the award – set up to recognise and reward engineering innovation and machine design at interpack 2017 – will come under the scrutiny of representatives from four leading international end users and three major trade associations.
Rockwell Automation is delighted to announce that representing end users will be:
- Johnson & Johnson who in its own words: “… embraces research and science – bringing innovative ideas, products and services to advance the health and well-being of people”
- Procter & Gamble, with its impressive history of innovation, stating: “…for more than 175 years, innovation has been in our DNA”
- Kimberly Clark, whose definition of being innovative is its “…commitment to new ideas that add value”
- Nestlé, whose “…industry-leading research and development drives innovation and supports the constant renovation of our food and beverage portfolio”.
The trade associations judging alongside the end users are:
- UCIMA (Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers' Association) – The national trade association that represents and supports the Italian packing and packaging machinery manufacturers
- GEPPIA – The French food industry equipment manufacturers association, representing over 400 companies spread out among the processing, transformation, packaging and conditioning sectors
- PMMI – The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, a trade association made up of more than 700 member companies from the packaging, processing and packaging-related converting machinery industries in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Any company with a machine at the interpack 2017 show, which deploys Rockwell Automation products or solutions can enter. With these major worldwide end users and industry associations on the judging panel, entering the award will give entrants a unique opportunity discuss their technology and innovative approach and future direction with some of the industry’s most influential people.
The winner will be announced on the 4th May 2017 at the public award ceremony at the Rockwell Automation booth at interpack 2017. The prize will be free flights and hotel accommodation to the Automation Fair event, 15 - 16 November 2017 at the George R. Brown Convention Centre in Houston, Texas, USA. While at Automation Fair, Rockwell Automation will give the winner opportunities to meet senior management teams and key industry personnel from the USA.
The Automation Fair event will give the winner and other visitors the ideal opportunity to discuss future intelligent machine concepts that support The Connected Enterprise and the IIoT and build new relationships with suppliers and end-users from all around the world. Comprising industry forums, hands-on labs, technical sessions and access to over 170 exhibits, visitors can take advantage of automation expertise from Rockwell Automation and members of its PartnerNetwork™.
Nominations for the ‘Best Future Machine Award’ need to be submitted by 31st October 2016. The finalists will be shortlisted by the end of December 2016 after which the panel will judge the winners in each of the categories before deciding on an overall winner.
