TourismX Best Rated Awards - Johannesburg Edition Recognises Top-Rated Tourism Businesses

Johannesburg - The inaugural TourismX Best Rated Awards - Johannesburg Edition has recognised leading tourism businesses and attractions across the city, highlighting establishments that combine strong customer ratings with a meaningful level of media visibility.

The TourismX Best Rated Awards provides an independent ranking of tourism and hospitality establishments based on their performance across online ratings and media visibility.

The results are a combination of underlying and verified online ratings performance and customer reviews, weighted at 90%, and online media visibility, weighted at 10%, converted into a total rating out of 10.

The Hotels segment is led by Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa, which achieved the highest combined score of 9.39/10, placing it at the top of the Johannesburg hotel rankings.

In the Guest Houses & B&Bs segment, Sanctuary Mandela leads the rankings with an impressive combined score of 9.40/10.

Marble Restaurant takes the top position in the Restaurants segment, achieving a combined score of 8.85/10.

The Tour Operators segment is led by MoAfrika Tours, which achieved a combined score of 9.34/10, placing it firmly at the top of the category.

In the Attractions segment, the Apartheid Museum leads with a combined score of 9.16/10, recognising its strong overall performance across the assessment criteria.

The Camping Places segment is headed by Cradle Moon Lakeside Game Lodge, which achieved a combined score of 8.29/10.

Meanwhile, Mandela House Museum takes the top position in the Tourism Heritage Sites & Museums segment with a combined score of 8.95/10.

Our objective is to recognise tourism and hospitality establishments across South Africa based on a consistent and independent methodology that combines verified customer ratings and reviews with online media visibility."
