Mazda3 Enthusiasts’ Meet-Up Celebrates Design, Belonging and the Joy of the Drive

There are moments you plan, and others that find you. The Mazda3 Enthusiasts’ Meet-Up & Drive, organised by Risima Ngobe, was one of those moments - relaxed, joyful, and filled with quiet magic that unfolded naturally among people who share a love for something more than just cars.
From the start, there was no need for flashy intros or formalities. Just warm welcomes, familiar nods, and the easy rhythm of like-minded people gathering in the same spirit — to connect, to drive, and to soak in a day shaped by shared appreciation. Mazda3 owners arrived as they were, each car reflecting personal touches and character, with details that spoke to style as much as performance.
“I wanted this to be something real,” said Risima Ngobe, organiser and proud Mazda3 enthusiast. “We weren’t trying to impress anyone - we just wanted to show up, enjoy the drive, and remind ourselves what makes this community special.”
As the group set off, the feeling began to build. A sense of calm. A sense of joy. Scenic roads, shared glances, casual conversations at each stop - the kind of connection that doesn’t need to be explained. It’s felt.
Mazda Southern Africa understands this feeling deeply. Deolinda Da Costa, Head of Marketing, shared:“We support these kinds of meet-ups because they’re about more than driving. They’re about belonging. That feeling you get when you're among your people, doing what you love - that’s the heart of our Mazda community.”
It’s the same feeling that sits at the centre of Mazda’s philosophy, where design meets emotion, and every drive becomes a story. Through Wonderrrr Awaits, Mazda invites people to rediscover driving not as routine, but as a return to self. It’s an idea that resonates with every curve of the Mazda3 - a car that doesn’t shout, but speaks with confidence and style.
And it’s in the details where the Mazda3 truly shines. A Head-Up Display keeps your eyes on the road, while the power slide-and-tilt glass sunroof opens the cabin to light and sky, adding a sense of freedom to every drive. Inside, the 12-speaker BOSE® sound system turns playlists into a soundtrack for the journey, filling the cabin with richness and clarity. Black leather seat trim completes the picture - elegant, tactile, and unmistakably premium.
Whether it’s these thoughtful touches or the overall balance between design and experience, the Mazda3 continues to strike a chord with those who see driving as more than transport. And at the meet-up, that was clear: the joy wasn’t just in the cars. It was in the people, the pause, the freedom of the open road — and the feeling that snuck up on everyone, softly and unmistakably.
The feeling will find you. Because even in the most ordinary moments, Wonderrrr Awaits.
Photos and reflections from the day are available via Mazda's social media channels. For those who missed this chapter, the next one is already being imagined - same spirit, new stories, and always, that feeling.
