Known as the travel industry’s Oscars, the World Travel Awards saluted Qatar Airways as Best Business Class Airline in the Middle East for the fourth consecutive year and being named for having the region’s Best Cabin Crew. More than 400 leading figures from across the regional and global travel industry attended the event, held at the Monarch Hotel.
Qatar Airways Executive Vice-President Commercial Ali Al Rais collected the awards on behalf of the airline. At the awards, Qatar Airways celebrated winning the Best Economy Class in the Middle East Award as voted by readers of Business Traveller Middle East magazine. Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the latest accolades demonstrated the airline’s commitment to delivering the best levels of service and that the company was building on its highly successful business model as a full-service global network airline. “Yet again, Qatar Airways has proven it has made a tremendous mark in the regional and global aviation industry in the short few years the airline has been operating,” he said. “Winning the Best Business Airline in the Middle East for the fourth year running is great news. We are extremely proud of our Business Class on regional and international routes, offering the most innovative premium services to our valued customers, over and above the competition.” Added Al Baker: “Honouring our cabin crew shows Qatar Airways places great emphasis on service and excellence in everything we do. With more than 90 nationalities, we have cabin crew drawn from different cultures and backgrounds, which makes our airline truly international to serve the needs of passengers from around the world. All credit to our employees across the airline for full dedication to their job.”
Qatar Airways won the honours from peers across the region’s travel and tourism industry who were polled for their votes. Hailed as the world’s largest and most important international awards for the travel industry, the World Travel Awards aim to encourage supreme excellence, value, innovation and quality in every aspect of the customer experience.
