New menu, new flavours at Webersburg
Submitted by: MyPressportal Team Save to InstapaperOn the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, Webersburg Wine Estate launches new menus at the SugarBosch Bistro, offering guests a new breakfast and lunch menu accompanied by breath-taking views of the magnificent dam. With an intimate boutique winery on the premises, guests can pair dishes with Webersburg’s flagship wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon.
The breakfast menu starts off with a continental breakfast buffet for R95 per person and includes fresh fruit, yogurt, home-made muesli, cereals and freshly baked breads, muffins and croissants with home-made jams and preserves. It incorporates deliciously home-made items, creating that fresh wholesome feel.
On the hot breakfast menu new dishes such as chai spiced French toast with grilled apple and rashers of crispy bacon, mascarpone cheese and honey, can be found on the menu. Also look out for the omelettes or Frittatas that come with a variety of toppings including smoked snoek with rocket and lemon cream cheese.
The SugarBosch Bistro has created a new lunch menu that has paired unexpected ingredients together to create something quite different yet still keeping in line with their hearty home-style feel. The Cape Malay-style smoked snoek springrolls found on the starter menu comes with fresh coriander mayonnaise and a homemade sweet pepper relish. Also, the pulled pork toast with roast garlic and sage aromas is served on home-made ciabatta toast and comes with home-made smoked apple chutney.
There are still a few firm favourites that have remained on the menu like the Webersburg 200g Chalmar beef burger and the grilled Chalmar beef steak, but dishes such as the citrus and buchu crusted line fish and slow braised Springbok Shank, are new to the menu. Dessert ends with options like caramelized pear and almond “Mille Feuille” and a petit four plate that incorporates a selection of handmade sweet delights.
